Die Cast vs. Power Hoops

Worth the money, really...!!!

Wow! That's surprising.

A while back, I built a set with 8-ply kellers. I used the old stamped hoops from a Slingerland set. Nice tone for one note, loud, but articulation for those quick passages wasn't there. I saw a guy who took the hardware off of a Gretsch kit and put it on a set of keller shells. I couldn't believe how great they sounded. Maybe there is something to this die-cast thing.

In my opinion Die Cast eliminates all the "defects" of the drums such as lack of resonance, body, tone, harmonics, etc. and only focus on the tone of the drum, is super easy to tune and to stay in much longer, but in my personal opinion that efect is with the heavy Die Cast in my opinion. The Die Cast the total weight of all of them, and is 2 for 10; 2 for 12; 2 for 14; and 2 for the 16, maybe about 10 to 15 pounds honestly, so they're heavy but honestly that's the kind of sound that they produce on the drumset.

So buy Die Cast for everything.........
